Pressure sensor refers to the diaphragm device (stainless steel membrane, etc.) as a medium, with pressure-sensitive elements of gas and liquid pressure measurement, and converted into electrical signal output equipment. Usually consists of a pressure sensitive element and a signal processing unit. According to the different types of test pressure, pressure sensors can be divided into gauge pressure sensors, differential pressure sensors and absolute pressure sensors.
The role of the pressure sensor is to measure the medium pressure value, so that the pressure value through the transmission of electrical signals, the acquisition of instruments and computers. The conversion of pressure to an electrical signal is accomplished by the physical deformation of a strain gauge bonded to the diaphragm of the pressure sensor and connected to a Wheatstone bridge. The pressure applied to the pressure transducer causes the diaphragm to deflect, creating a strain on the gauge. This strain produces a change in resistance proportional to the pressure.
Precautions for the use of pressure sensors:
1、Prevent the transmitter from contacting with corrosive or overheated media;
2、Prevent slag from being deposited in the conduit;
3、When measuring the liquid pressure, the pressure take-off port should be opened on the side of the process pipeline to avoid sedimentation and accumulation of slag;
4、When measuring gas pressure, the pressure-taking port should be opened at the top of the process pipeline, and the transmitter should also be installed at the upper part of the process pipeline so that the accumulated liquid can be easily injected into the process pipeline;
5、The pressure guide tube should be installed in the place where the temperature fluctuation is small;
6, measurement of steam or other high-temperature media, need to be connected to add a buffer tube (coil) and other condensers, should not make the transmitter's operating temperature exceeds the limit.
Pressure sensors are commonly used in industrial practice for a sensor, which is widely used in a variety of industrial automation environment, involving water conservancy and hydropower, railroad transportation, intelligent buildings, production automation, aerospace, military, petrochemical, oil wells, electric power, ships, machine tools, pipelines and many other industries.
