FDS INITIUM
Product Description
Initium - The Flight Data System (FDS) is a ruggedized, fully integrated instrument consisting of a pair of microprocessor-based Data Acquisition and Control Units (DACUs) and digital temperature compensated Electronic Pressure Scanning Valves (ESPs) dedicated to on-board pressure monitoring. The FDS is capable of operating up to eight small 16, 32, or 64-channel pressure scanning valves, equipped with digital temperature compensation (DTC). The FDS is capable of operating up to eight small 16, 32 or 64 channel pressure scanning valves with digital temperature compensation (DTC). The FDS performs all pressure data acquisition tasks, calculates engineering unit conversions internally, and transmits temperature-corrected pressure data back to the host computer on the fly via a UDP or TCP/IP Ethernet connection. the FDS uses calibration data stored on the ESP scanning valves to correct for nonlinearities and thermal drift, and on-line rezeroing corrects for any zero drift of the transducers. The FDS supports all DTC scanning valve functions including programmable demodulation, sensor temperature readout, internal calibration valve drift control, and position detection with the addition of a scanning valve. The "Live @ Power up" mode uses stored scanner configurations to greatly reduce initialization time and automatically return to data acquisition mode, ideal for unexpected power restarts. Communication is configured using the TCP/IP protocol so that acquired data is transmitted directly to the user's data memory or host group (IGMP) via UDP multicast.
