Product Description
A stand-alone ratio measurement signal conditioner. The measured voltage difference is divided by the sum (Va-Vb)/(Va+Vb) to support a constant secondary voltage sum (Va+Vb) for AC LVDTs and RVDTs, and a secondary voltage sum (Va+Vb). Ratio signal conditioning minimizes thermal errors in the position sensor.The LVC-4500 offers a wide selection of voltage, current and digital RS485 outputs. Push-button calibration provides intuitive operation compared to signal conditioners with range and offset adjusters. Fault conditions, such as a broken wire at the LVDT/RVDT connection, can be indicated by a flashing LED fault indication.The LVC-4500 uses a 9-30V DC power supply and is mounted on a polyamide DIN rail. Calibration instructions, terminal functions, LVDT connection diagrams and DIP switch functions are printed on the side panel for ease of use. Synchronization with other signal conditioners is accomplished by daisy-chaining to a synchronization bus. One unit will assume the master function and, depending on the priority setting of the DIP switches, in the event of a failure, the next highest priority device will take over as the master. By using the RS-485 port, the host is able to retrieve measurement data, receive operational status, perform remote calibration, and perform hot-swap reconfiguration, where calibration settings can be uploaded digitally.
